Growing up in Apartheid South Africa, I realised that if I was not invited to the party, I threw my own. There is a time in our life we need to take a stand and stand up for what we believe. I stood up for me.
I believed in me and that’s when the game of my life changed. The saying ‘stand of something or fall for anything’ is so pertinent in life.

I have carried this thought process throughout my life To feel not wanted in a place, the ‘odd one out’, to feel the token invitee is a terrible feeling. I don’t believe that anyone should have the power to make you feel less than who you are. We have to stand up for what we believe. We need to believe in ourselves.
When we start process thought impressed upon us by anyone that questions who we are due to our skin tone, weight, sexual orientation, beliefs, we are ultimately giving them the power to create emotional division within ourselves.

Don’t worry if there is no seat for you at the table, ask yourself if that’s the table that you need to be at? It’s difficult, but set your own table!!!
